How personable is too personable for LinkedIn?

I'm assuming you've come across the self-appointed LinkedIn police and you're now worried about being personable without being too personal?
Don't be. They’re usually the perpetrators of copy that reads like an HR handbook.
i.e. so safe it’s an offence in itself, and wastes 10 lines of your life saying… well, I don’t remember most of the time.
Guess what? LinkedIn is not the office and HR isn't here. It’s a networking marketplace powered by people.
Who do things like tell personal stories, trade visibility, and sometimes chuck in a photo of the dog.
It isn’t breaking the ‘rules’, it’s building connections.
Real ones.
Like you're meant to.
Because people prefer doing business with people they feel they know.
So don't worry about the LinkedIn police piling in if you get personal. They only like to pull down people being open and connecting.
In fact, fck them. Snap the office fur babies. Post your stories. And have a party in your copy so damn wild it brings the LinkedIn Westboro Baptist Church running.
